Interview with Heath Rowe, CEO of Silverstone Enterprises | Dragon Operative
Conducted by Amelia, investigative journalist
Amelia: Heath, thank you for agreeing to speak with me today. I know your life is anything but ordinary, balancing the demands of being the CEO of Silverstone Enterprises with your covert work with the DRAGON organization. How did all of this start for you?
Heath Rowe: It’s my pleasure, Amelia. I’ve always known that my life would be different from the start, given my family’s business legacy. Silverstone Enterprises was founded by my father's family, and when I took the reins, I was ready to push it further and expand it into the luxury hotel and casino market it is today. But, what many don’t know is that from a young age, I was also drawn rather groomed for something far less public—working in the shadows, so to speak. My father brought me into DRAGON, a covert global organization that collaborates with agencies like the FBI, CIA, or any global government in need. I wasn’t just going to run a business—My father had other plans for me. For me, all I was looking for was a way to make a real difference.
Amelia: That’s quite a shift from the world of business. What made you decide to get involved with Dragon?
Heath Rowe: It wasn’t a decision I made myself. I really had no choice. It was ingrained in me from a child. My mother left my dad when I was ten. She just got up and ran away with another man one day. No note, no goodbye, No I will see you soon, just was gone when I came home from school. She left my father with a kid, a full-time career as CEO by day, and a DRAGON operative by night. Her leaving left me with a lot of questions about the world. After she left, my father started grooming me hard so that I could one day step into the organization. He wasn't a man of a lot of words, but he did believe in helping people from all walks of life. We didn't always see eye to eye, but I did respect that about him.
DRAGON seemed like the right way for me to use my abilities—whether it’s strategy, decision-making, or when needed, physical action—to protect people and handle situations before they escalate. After my mother left, I felt lost, and DRAGON filled that void. After my first mission, I knew I had made the right choice to follow in my father's footsteps, to do something to help keep people safe, especially when lives were at stake.
Amelia: That must have been incredibly difficult. How did that shape your approach to leadership, both at Silverstone and within DRAGON?
Heath Rowe: Losing her changed me in ways I’m still learning to understand. It’s not just about running a company or managing a covert operation; it’s about protecting the people around me. At Silverstone, I lead with the goal of providing not just luxury but security. In DRAGON, it’s a little different. We don’t always get the luxury of a backup plan or a safe exit. But the core value remains the same: the people I work with, the people I protect, they’re everything. That’s why I’m so committed to both worlds, despite how difficult it may be to balance them.
Amelia: It sounds like you’re carrying a lot of responsibility on your shoulders. Given your work in DRAGON, I imagine trust doesn’t come easily to you.
Heath Rowe: You’re right. Trust is a tough thing for me. I’ve seen betrayal firsthand, and it’s something I’ve had to work through. I’ve built my walls over the years, and it’s difficult to let people in. When you’re in my line of work, you can’t afford to trust everyone. But there’s always a conflict—emotional distance can protect you, but it also isolates you. Kenzie, for example, challenges me to confront those walls. I find myself trusting her in ways I didn’t expect.
Amelia: That sounds like it could be a complex situation. How did your relationship with Kenzie develop, especially considering how much you’ve been through?
Heath Rowe: Kenzie is… different. There’s an energy in her that’s hard to ignore. I first met her in The Velvet Lounge, and honestly, there was something in the air between us right from the start. But it wasn’t easy. She’s been through a lot, and so have I. She’s smart, resilient, and skeptical, understandably so, given her past. It wasn’t an easy connection, but we started to rely on each other. Even though I had my own reservations, I couldn’t deny the pull between us. The deeper I got to know her, the more I realized how much she was beginning to mean to me.
Amelia: It’s clear that your work and your personal life intersect in complicated ways. You mentioned earlier that trust doesn’t come easily. Does that affect how you navigate the work you do with DRAGON and how you view the people closest to you?
Heath Rowe: Yes, definitely. In DRAGON, you have to rely on your team, but there’s always that underlying uncertainty. Trust is earned through actions, not words. However, Kenzie forces me to reconsider the way I view loyalty and relationships. I’ve kept my professional life and my personal life separate for so long, but with her, I’m learning that maybe there’s more room for overlap than I thought. As far as DRAGON goes, it’s not just about the mission anymore. It’s about the people I’m working with and the lives I’m protecting, and Kenzie has become a big part of that.
Amelia: That sounds like a huge shift for you. What do you see for your future, especially given the demands of both Silverstone and DRAGON?
Heath Rowe: Honestly, I’m still figuring that out. Silverstone is my legacy, and DRAGON is my mission. There’s always this tension between wanting to create something stable and wanting to be part of something bigger than myself. My ideal future? I think it’s about finding balance. I am there for the people I care about, especially Kenzie while continuing to lead Silverstone and serve my role in DRAGON. I don’t know exactly what that looks like yet, but I’m committed to making it work.
Amelia: It sounds like you're still navigating that balance. What do you want people to know about you, about who you are, beyond the titles and responsibilities?
Heath Rowe: At the end of the day, I’m just a man trying to do what’s right. I’ve made mistakes, and I’ve learned from them. I’m driven by a sense of duty not just to the organizations I work for but to the people I care about. I protect what matters, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. I know I can’t control everything, but I try my best to be someone who can be relied on, even when the stakes are at their highest.
Amelia: Thank you for sharing so openly with us, Heath. It’s clear there’s a lot more to you than just your roles as CEO and operative.
Heath Rowe: Thanks for giving me the chance to speak, Amelia. It’s not easy to open up, but I appreciate it.
